Trends and Challenges:

The convergence of computation, communication and physical interactions with an external environment motivate new research directions pertaining to distributed embedded computation that lives within constraints of physical time and space.

The challenges in the new domain are compounded by a trend towards global integration, clearly seen across the entire spectrum of embedded computing from low-end devices (e.g., sensor networks) to high-end architectures (e.g., DoD’s Global Information Grid). Our research addresses these challenges.
